Christ Church Brighton

Who are we?

Welcome to the Christ Church Brighton website.

Christ Church is a new church in Brighton for people who don't go to church.... families, students, workers - anyone and everyone!

Click here to read some interviews with some of our members.

Why do we meet?

What we seek to do as a church is to cast accessible and intriguing gospel lifelines into the diversity of Brighton from a growing Jesus-centred community.

What about meetings?

All our meetings are open to absolutely everybody, regardless of ... well, whatever "label" you might give someone. Everyone is welcome and made to feel welcome - not least, because every individual is precious to God our loving Creator. Come and get in touch with our Creator God and investigate the real Jesus. See when we meet...

Beach BBQs

Hello! Seeing as whenever summer rolls around, there's not much that beats firing up the BBQ (or lighting the pretreated paper) and having that great flame (or charcoal) taste. Here's a copy of the Brighton and Hove Council's Beach BBQ rules...

You may not barbecue between the two piers in Brighton or on any of the beaches between Medina Villas and the bottom of Hove Street.

You may barbecue on any other beach within the Brighton & Hove Boundary.

Please do not bring glass on to our beaches.

Do

  • only light barbecues after 6pm.
  • contain barbecues in a metal tray.
  • raise barbecues above the pebbles to prevent them getting hot and burning people once you have left the beach.
  • douse the barbecue with cold water once you have finished to ensure the fire is out and the coals are cold.
  • dispose of your litter in the bins provided when you leave. Any food remains should be well wrapped before being placed in a bin.

Don't

  • light a fire. This is extremely dangerous to other beach users and has caused serious injuries in the past.
  • cover up hot stones with cold ones. (Cold stones shatter when they warm up and can cause injury)
  • leave your litter behind.
  • bring glass bottles on to the beach.
  • play amplified music.
  • have more than twenty people at your gathering.
Enjoy your BBQs
